New Title - Queen of Musicals HRH

Well the Queen of Cyclists and the Queen of Tennis have conferred upon me a new title I am now officially The Queen of Musicals HRH and I think it fits me perfectly.
As many of you know one loves musicals even really bad ones so I though I might make a nerdy list of my favourite. Now I make a distinction between films and theatre as I think this makes a difference:
Films
Slipper and the Rose (cheesy but I love it)
Rent
Singing in the Rain
Rent
Singing in the Rain
Wizard of Oz
Sweet Charity
Sweet Charity
Jesus Christ Superstar
A Chorus Line
Theatre
Guys and Dolls
Wicked
Legally Blonde the Musical!!
Tell me on a Sunday
Into the Woods
A Little Night Music
Singing in the Rain
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum
Grey Gardens
Me and My Girl
The Producers
Now I am waiting for some West End producers to get on and give me a really good Cabaret (the one in the west end at the moment I hated) Mame (wouldn't Patty Lapone or Elaine Page be brilliant at this) West Side Story, Rent, The Fix, Sweet Charity.

Weird Weather

It has been ridiculously warm for April. Now unfortunately I am with Mad Madame Mim - she too hates "horrible wholesome sunshine". While my hair has yet to turn purple (give it time) I am that very peculiar individual who gets all grumpy and depressed when the sun comes out Lau reckons I am allergic to Vitamin D.
Anywho my poor Scooter is finding NY a little too cold, dull and depressing and is missing LA and all that terrible cheerful sunshine something tells me we should perhaps swap.

Theatre - Yeah!!

My wonderful friends have booked a ton of theatre tickets to sweeten the thirty pill. Actually that is partly true Ed is not a fan of the theatre especially nothing "arty" so Scott has a theatre buddy in me and Ed gets to not sit through that crap.
Anywho on Saturday I saw the Grey Gardens, on Wednesday night after mum had gone home an off-Broadway play Tall Grass which was three one act plays with three actors in which weird and wonderful things take place.
Last night Scott and I went to see Deuce a new play by Terrence McNally about two old doubles players who have come back to the US Open as honored guests. Angela Landsbury and Marian Seldes sit on chairs on the stage throughout the piece and talk to each other while also watching a singles game. It was really good it was very early in the run but it was excellent.
Tonight we are off to see Les Miserables with Lea Salong as Fantine which is Eds thing. Saturday we are going to see Legally Blonde the musical which is in previews - it will be interesting.

New York New York so good they named it twice!!

Dear All
That's right 30 has passed me by and very glad am I that it has been and gone. In the end it was not so bad the last six weeks have been horrible and I have been dreading the day but it was quite nice in the end. We went to the Boat House in Central Park for lunch which was lovely as it was Easter Sunday it was absolutely packed but it was a chance for a good old gossip and giggle with my three favourite people in the world mum, Scott and Ed (shame Laura couldn't come).
The day before we went to the theatre and saw the Grey Garden which is a musical about the crazy aunt and cousin of Jacqueline Kennedy. Sounds like an odd choice for a musical and it was but it was also really good. The Bouviers had money in the 1940's and 1950's but by the 1970 they were living in squalor and poverty and were crazy as a box of frogs.
Mum has gone back home now so today I wandered down to the Frick Collection which if you ask Jane and Miranda will tell you is really my spiritual home. Mr Clay Frick a very rich 19th century industrialist gathered a massive collection of paintings and sculpture and had a house built by the Park. The collection feels like you are wandering around someones house only someones house that has Gainsborough's, Romney's, Whistler, Turner and amazing Fra Phillipo Lippi's. Honestly I get goose bumps just thinking about it.
